Microsoft has released v9.0 of Dynamics 365 (CRM) and is available for download. Below is the link to download:

Please note that there are major changes in the Software requirements for installing/upgrading Dynamics 365 v9.0 from Dynamics 365 v8.2

If you try to upgrade to Dynamics 364 v9.0 from windows Server 2012 R2 OS (or previous versions), you will end up in this error.

Supported Windows Server 2016 editions

The following editions of the Windows Server 2016 operating system are supported for installing and running Dynamics 365 Server:

  • Windows Server 2016 Standard
  • Windows Server 2016 Datacenter

 

SQL Server editions

Any one of the following SQL Server editions is required, running, and available for Dynamics 365:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Enterprise
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Standard
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Developer (for non-production use only)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Enterprise, with Cumulative Update 2
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Standard, with Cumulative Update 2
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Developer, with Cumulative Update 2 (for non-production use only)

 

Consider these changes in Pre-requisites when you plan your upgrade to version 9.0. Will have further updates about Dynamics 365 v 9.0 in coming posts. Will keep you posted!
